Jeju Stadium construction was started in 1999 and completed in 2001, is investing to serve for the 2002 World Cup.
Jeju National Stadium was designed and constructed in accordance with the shape of a crater - natural features most notably on the island of Jeju, the roof was designed to mimic as fishing nets on the traditional fishing vessels on the island and this stadium built lower to the ground 14 meters to be able to withstand strong winds.
